Drawing Drapery and
Dramatic Costume*
Saturday September 11th & Sunday September 12th, 9:30-12:30 pm. Sign up for first or both days.
Drapery is an
important subject in art from simple drapery to costume. This workshop will use pencil and chalk to
explore the elegant art of drapery using dramatic staging, lighting, and
costume. Through lecture and demonstration students will learn about the
structure of drapery, the different types of folds, line theory, light and shadow,
drawing techniques, and gain skills by drawing from observation. This workshop is
open to both
beginners and advanced students.
Instructor: Cheryl Wheat has taught drawing at

Arts Talk Lecture
Series
September 24th 6:30-8:00 pm
First speaker: Musician, Bill Crow, "Laughing Through A Life in Jazz" The Edward Hopper House is hosting a lecture series featuring artists of all mediums and disciplines once a month on a Friday evening. There is a ½-hour wine and cheese reception before the one-hour talk. Bill Crow has played for numerous Broadway shows and has played with Benny Goodman, Marian McPartland, Bucky Pizzarelli, Gerry Mulligan, and Carmen Leggio, as well as with bands led by Mike Riley, John Benson Brooks, Teddy Charles, Stan Getz, Al Haig, Claude Thornhill, and Terry Gibbs to name a few. He is the author of Jazz Anecdotes and From Birdland to Broadway. Fee: $10 in advance ($8 HH members), $12 at the door. Space is limited. Please reserve a seat in advance. |

music play activities with table crafts, musical instruments, story boards, and
sing-along puppet play fun.
